The challenge wasn't just to depict a pita, but to explore what happens when a humble cultural staple is treated with the breathless urgency, political gravity, and sensationalism of daily breaking news.
THE CONCEPT
Tabloid Satire meets Carb Mania.
Borrowing the visual grammar of daily print tabloids (specifically parodying mainstream news headers like Israel Hayom), Pita HaYom reimagines a universe where national security, geopolitics, high finance, and celebrity gossip all revolve around bread.
Every headline, ticker, and teaser commits 100% to the absurdity of the premise while adhering strictly to authentic editorial layout rules.
ART DIRECTION & VISUAL SYSTEM
Grid & Editorial Structure: Built on a tight, multi-column modular grid that balances extreme content density with clear visual hierarchy.
Typographic Voice: Heavy, high-impact condensed Hebrew display typography paired with classic newspaper serif accents to mimic authentic tabloid cadence and urgency.
Color Palette: High-contrast tabloid palette — aggressive news reds (#D62828), deep ink black (#111111), and crisp white, punctuated by golden baked-crust tones.
Photo Manipulation & Montage: Seamless, tongue-in-cheek photo compositing to integrate global figures and absurd scenarios into realistic press photography.
